What is 1±Therapy?
 

1±therapy occurs when you and I agree to meet for one session with the intention of me providing you with the meaningful help you are looking for that can make a real difference in your life. To help find a solution that you can implement right away, It is also important to know that if for you ever feel you need more support or guidance, additional help is always available to you should you request it.

 

Is 1±Therapy for Me?
 

1± therapy is for you if you are stuck with an emotional or behavioural problem and are looking for a way to get unstuck.It can help you gain clarity, insight and tools to navigate life more effectively. It can also help you explore if you need further support.

What can it help with?
 

1± therapy approach that is focused on addressing your immediate concerns and helping you find solutions quickly. 1±therapy maybe perfect for you. with a goal-oriented and problem solving approach, we will work together to tackle the specific issue you have chosen to discuss. No lengthly case history or extensive assessments required- just practical strategies and support to help you move forward. If you are looking for a result-driven therapy option that is efficient and effective, give 1± therapy a try.

Can I Prepare for 1±Therapy?
 

When you choose to engage-in to One-plus therapy, I will send you a contract to sign and schedule an appointment for our session.

​Additionally, I will provide you with a pre-assessment questionnaire to fill out and return. While completing the questionnaire is optional, it is highly recommended as it can help you prepare for our session and get the most out of our time together. Sharing your responses with me in advance also allows me to better prepare and tailor our session to your specific needs and goals. Your readiness and openness to engage in this process will contribute to a more effective and productive therapeutic experience.

What Does 1±Therapy Involve?
 

Once you decide to have ONE-plus therapy, I will send you a contract to sign. On receipt, we will make an appointment. At the beginning of the session, I will check that you understand the purpose of the session, and if so, I will help you to clarify what you want to take away from the session. We will then agree on a focus for the session, which is usually the issue for which you seek help. It is my responsibility to help us both keep to this focus. I will then help you to discover a potential solution to the problem and encourage you to rehearse it in the session to see if it is right for you. If so, I will help you to develop a plan to implement the session and clarify with you what your takeaways are from the session.

What Happens at the End of the Session? 
 

At the end of the session, we will discuss the next steps. The options are:

1) You concluding that you got what you came for and need no further help.

ii) You indicating that you want time to reflect on the session, to put into practice what you learned and then decide if you need further help.

 iii) You deciding that you would like further help which might include having another session. 

Also, If at the end of the session, we agree that you need more specialised help than I cannot provide, then I will help you find such help. 

I am offering.
 

  • At the moment, I am only offering 1±plus therapy during the day on a Monday Face to face or Thursday all day online.

How Do I Make an Appointment?

Are You Accredited?

I am registered as a Counselling Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions, I am currently waiting on my accreditation with the BACP.

What is Your Referral Policy?

I am happy to take referrals or self-referrals.

How Long Do Sessions Last?

In general, sessions last up to 50 minutes.

How Long Does Therapy or Coaching  Last?

This is a difficult question to answer. If you are coming for ONE-plus Therapy my aim is to provide enough help in that session to enable you to implement a solution on you own. If you are coming for any other service, I offer open ended therapy. This decision can be made at any time during the therapy process, based on personal preference or circumstances.

What are Your Fees?

Fees are available on request.
